Swedish Limit For Phosphates In Detergents Enters Into Force The Swedish Chemicals Agency (KemI) has announced that the content of phosphates in dishwasher detergents will be restricted in Sweden from 1 July 2011. After this date, it will be illegal to sell or supply detergents containing phosphates to consumers if the total phosphorus content exceeds 0.5% following a decision by the Swedish government in March 2010. However, dishwasher detergents produced before 1 July 2011 may still be marketed and supplied until 31 December 2011.
